Alla Ilyasova is a Russian-born theatre and teaching artist, living and working in New York City.

She has devised with Third Room Productions (Dust) and performed with Infinite Variety Productions (Censored on Final ApproachA Piece of My Heart, Utah, Untouched, and Insignificant). Her plays have been produced for the New York International Fringe Festival (Svetlyachki) and presented at Dixon Place (Other Planet Hearts). She has been fortunate enough to assist John Christopher Jones on his translations of Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard and A Month in the Country for Classic Stage Company, and has most recently appeared in Marina Gregory's Little Light and Home at Guild Hall of East Hampton.

Alla holds an MFA in Playwriting from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University, has trained in clown work with The Humanist Project, and is a co-founder of Hidden Well Theatre (where she's currently gearing up for the company's very first production).

She feels lucky to tell stories for a living, and hopes to create ample space and resources for others to do the same.

“Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass.”
